Update on AQIS rates

By Margaret Bux

The Department of Agriculture is implementing new rates of charge for a number of biosecurity services. The fee increases will take effect from 1 July 2014.

Changes in fees and charges are necessary to return the department’s cost recovery arrangements to a sustainable footing and to ensure continued compliance with the government’s cost recovery guidelines.

New rates of charge are being implemented for the application and assessment of permits, declarations and container clearances.  The new rates can be found at the following link: Import Clearance Fee Review

Specific detail regarding  new rates of charge for permit fees can be found at the following link: Permit fees

The department has a dedicated website for the biosecurity fee review process.   For further information please see the 2014 biosecurity fee review page
